last tuesday derek turned 24! i woke up early to make him breakfast in bed, and somehow while trying to cook the eggs, bacon, sausage and pancakes i managed to not burn down the house. which is a miracle. i gave him his presents and he headed up to go snowboarding at powder with my mom and megan. it snowed the night before so there was fresh powder just for us. we hiked lightning ridge again and rode the snowcat a few times too. then at lunchtime at the powder keg we broke out in song and gave him a loud, out of tune happy birthday song, along with everyone in the bar that joined it. bless you crazy powmainians. we came home and derek headed to his weightlifting class while i baked his chocolate-chocolate birthday cake. after plenty of pictures of the finished cake we drove to derek's parents house to watch Justified get dinner. derek's aunt and uncle from Mt Pleasant were even up North for their daughters softball game so they came up for dinner and cake. t'was such a fun day, and it wasn't even my birthday :)

ReplyDeleteNot sure how I found your blog but I just had to tell you how much I LOVE the Scrabble theme!! Especially the cake! My boyfriend and I totally LOVE Scrabble and play all the time! I am totally going to do this for his bday- too bad it's not till January... but still... DARLING!
