SF Day 3 | Muir Woods, Cypress Tree Tunnel, & Point Reyes

Day Three  (Muir Woods, Cypress Tree Tunnel, Point Reyes Lighthouse.)

Day three we ate berakfast at home and packed a lunch to bring with us to the Muir Woods. We also packed snacks to bring to the lighthouse. We also dressed warmer with layers, which I am glad we did since it was a little chilly in the forest. The Muir Woods was so beautiful!
So much lush green and tall redwood trees! It was so peaceful walking around in the forest. Apart from the occasional squawk from Grant ;) But he really did so good on this whole trip. Bless the heavens ;) We sat down on a bench and ate our lunch in side the park. After our time at the Muir Woods, we got in the car and headed up Pacific Coast One. We stopped by Muir Beach overlook on our way and it was SO beautiful! Definitely worth the last minute stop.

The drive to the Cypress Tree Tunnel was really pretty! The roads were bumpy and lots of curves but it was a pretty drive in the hill sides. Once we got to the tree tunnel is wasn't crowded at all! Which was really nice. We even met a nice couple who took some really good photos of us. Hooray!

Next we drove to the Point Reyes Lighthouse. The drive was beautiful, but the road was sure bumpy! So many potholes. We got there, parked and brought some snacks with us. Cause we always need snacks! We hiked down the 300 stairs to the lighthouse. It was so pretty! I was super glad it was a clear day too, because the last time my sister came it was really foggy and you couldn't really see the ocean. We were lucky too because we saw several whales! We found some shade and ate our snacks and then hiked up the 300 stairs back to our car. Killer workout! But it was worth it!

We headed home and made some dinner back at my sisters house. We also walked down to Smitten Ice Cream. It was really good! They make it right in front of you with liquid nitrogen! Very cool and yummy!
