Took a quick trip to Capitol Reef National Park with the kids and my mom. I was hired to go down and shoot some engagements

Wild Poppy Field

Last week we drove up to Mantua to see the Wild Poppy Field and it did not disappoint! I followed Scar around as she ate fruit snacks, collected rocks and looked for bugs.

Lilac Blooms

We went for a walk the other day and found this huge lilac wall. I couldn't help but come back with the tripod to document the bump and Scar of course.

Tulip Fest 2017

We had such a fun time at the tulip festival the other day. The place was pretty much empty and it was so nice. We went last year on a Saturday on opening weekend and it was so crowed.

Tiny Scar + Colorful Wall

There other day while in Salt Lake area, we made a quick stop to see the Cents of Style Wall!  This is the coolest wall in Utah. Loved seeing Scarlett get out of the car and say "WOW" when she say it.

Spring Skiing with Scarlett

We took Scarlett skiing for the fist time yesterday and it was so fun! It was such a nice spring day. We got her all loaded up in her skis and she just stared at her feet.

San Francisco 2017

I just got back from a trip to San Francisco to visit my sister. She moved out there last year and I was super excited to go visit and see her new city. We ate way too much food and walked lots!

A spring day at the nursery

We went on a hunt for some new spring plants at the nursery the other day. We went to our favorite one, J & J Nursery in Layton. I always love going there but especially in the winter and spring.

At the tree farm

We had a fun time getting our photos taken by Kate! I will love these forever!

Zion National Park

Over the weekend Derek and I went to Zion National Park! We left Scarlett with my parents. It was our first time leaving her and it was well needed. We sure love and missed her but loved spending time together with just us two. She sure had a great time with my parents going on lots of walks, feeding the ducks, eating ice cream and playing. I'm sure she was a little bummed to leave them.

Horseshoe Bend

Had the opportunity to travel to Horseshoe Bend last week for photography.  This place amazes me every. single. time.

Scar & pupmkins

Scar and I went for a drive to Willard for some pumpkins and Maddox drive in for lunch! We stopped at Grammy's produce to get some pumpkins. I can't stand how cute she is standing all by herself in that little beanie. She was pretty dang proud of herself too. Love watching her master a new skill and be brave.

A fall hike in the mountains

^ Scar was happiest holding *and chewing* on sticks

We went for a hike today at a family in between General Conference sessions. We haven't hiked as a family since memorial day! That is so long. We live close to some cool trails that we need to check out more. We hiked from the top of the North Ogden Divide and found some pretty fall leaves. It was a short hike but super steep. Derek and I are a little out of shape and were pretty winded early in haha. I can't tell I will be sore tomorrow but it was so worth it. Such a pretty fall family hike!

A day at Pineview Reservoir

We said goodbye to summer with one last lake day at Pineview Reservoir today. We went to Quist beach that had a great view of Mount Ogden! Scarlett loved cruising around in the sand, eating handfuls every chance she got. The water was chilly but it was such a warm day it felt nice to wade in. We pilled all the kids (minus a few tiny babies) on the paddleboard for a photo! It was a great day to say goodbye to summer.

Labor Day at Powder Mountain

On labor day so we decided to take a drive up to powder before I had to work. We drove up to Powder Mountain and walked around the top of the resort. The views were amazing and it felt like we could see forever. After a hot summer, the slight breeze and chill up there was so refreshing. We walked around and climbed up on the ski lift, Scarlett had fun picking up and throwing rocks. It was a fun little adventure.

Bryce Canyon

A few weeks ago we went camping at Bryce Canyon National Park with some friends. We bought a trailer this summer and have been excited to go camping somewhere! We have never been to Bryce Canyon and it thought it would be a great place to check out and test out the trailer. Besides a flat tire on our first day we had a great trip. We hiked to see the hoodoos, skipped nap time, ate street tacos (tacos in a chip bag, my new favorite thing!) saw pretty sunsets, biked around our camp ground, went swimming, star gazed, stayed up late talking around the camp fire and ate way too many s'mores. I can't wait to plan our next camping trip!

A weekend trip to Southern California

A few photos from our quick weekend trip to Southern California. I was hired to shoot a wedding in Newport Beach so we decided to go a day early and play. It was a fun little trip. We visited extended family that we don't get to see very much, ate yummy food, went to Seal Beach and walked on the pier. I took some formal wedding photos on the beach at sunrise on morning and snapped a few photos as I was waiting for the couple to arrive. It was beautiful and so nice (and weird) to watch the sunrise by myself on the beach. I haven't sat and watched the sunrise for what felt like years so it was a nice treat and worth the early alarm clock.

8/8/16

Monte Cristo Camping

For my birthday we took our new trailer up to Monte Cristo for the night. It was so fun to head out to the mountains, eat smores and stay up talking around the camp fire.

5/9/16

Snow Canyon

Last weekend I went to St. George to photograph a wedding. My mom came along to help babysit. We had a fun weekend visting extended family, and going to Swig every chance we had.
